WASETWATER COLLECTIONS OPERATOR 1C 

Salary Range: $20.42 to $28.27 with 1C Certification or 
Salary Range: $21.45 to 29.69 with 1C & CDL License

The purpose of this position is to assist with the operation and maintenance of pump stations, sewer mains and CCTV sewer line inspections to ensure uninterrupted flow of sanitary sewer influent to the Wastewater Treatment Plant for processing.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance/repairs on pump station, sewer mains, and manholes.
  2. Perform drain and sewer camera inspections; routinely inspect pump stations throughout the City; log results and maintain accurate records.  
  3. Responds to citizen requests involving sewer problems.
  4. Operates equipment and utilizes a variety of hand and power tools; performs routine maintenance and repairs on equipment; identifies equipment maintenance needs.
  5. Assist with regular monitoring of systems through reading gauges, graphs, meters and control panels.
  6. Obtain estimates on materials and maintenance needs; make purchases as required.
  7. Assist with maintaining City facilities including minor building/fencing repairs and mowing as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma and experience in equipment operation required; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid State driver’s license.  Valid Alabama Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade I or Grade IC certification. Computer knowledge and experience needed.
