ABOUT THE ROLE
The Control Room Operator monitors operations of systems, processes, tests, production rates, and various types of equipment to ensure kiln and mill operations are in compliance with all company, safety and environmental requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Maintain continual observation of operation of all the various processes through recordings and indications of the control system, monitors and visual observation when necessary.
  • Ensure kiln and mill operation is in compliance with MSHA and company safety standards.
  • Ensure kiln and mill operation is in environmental compliance.
  • Monitor laboratory test results during shift and take corrective action as necessary to meet quality and quantity standards.
  • Manipulate controls to maintain optimum production rates and to prevent equipment damage.
  • Detect indications of equipment malfunction and report malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports in accordance with established procedures.
  • Work to keep costs related to work in line with the plant budget and be alert for ways to reduce costs of operations, maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain work area in clean and organized condition.
  • Work overtime and rotating shift schedules assigned.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Education:  High School diploma/GED
Required Work Experience: 3-5 years in a cement operations
Required Computer Skills: Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office applications

  • Good math and logic skills
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
