# Hours Per Week: 40-55 Hrs.

Average Work Schedule:

6 AM - 2:30 PM from Monday to Friday with possible overtime after the shift and/or on Saturdays depending on work needs.

Job Summary:

At Lucchese Bootmaker, craftsmanship defines our brand. The sewing vamps is a specialized sewing operation in the boot production process where the upper is attached to the boot’s lower portion. This work requires precision, attention to detail, and familiarity with industrial sewing machines.

Scope of Job:

The vamp sewing operation is part of the pre-fit and fitting stage, where the upper is secured to the boot’s body. This step is critical for ensuring a proper fit, durability, and aesthetic quality. The bootmaker must align the vamp accurately, sew it in place, and inspect it for stitching quality and alignment

Duties & Responsibilities

The Sew Vamp Operator will perform the following operations on an as-needed basis. Responsibilities may be modified to meet business needs:

  • Cut and Sew boot components, including front and back sections, using industrial dewing machines.
  • Read and interpret production tickets and work orders prier to stitching components together.
  • Get pairs from the rails.
  • Sew vamps with accurate alignment and consistent stitch quality.
  • Select appropriate thread types for the stitching of each vamps assembled.
  • Perform alterations, minor repairs, and finishing work as needed.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy, durability, and adherence to Lucchese quality standards.
  • Maintain sewing equipment and ensure proper machine operation.
  • Place box back to rails for the next production process.
  • Keep workstation organized and compliant with safety guidelines.
  • Meet daily production targets while maintaining quality expectations.
  • Assist other working areas as necessary.

Education, Experience, and/or Certifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in boot manufacturing, leather goods production, or similar industrial manufacturing environment required.
  • Prior experience operating industrial sewing machines strongly preferred.
