Job description

Job Title: Production Assistant

Location: Solon, OH

Pay: $19 base + $1 shift differential — paid weekly

Job Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday

Shift: 2nd Shift, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM


Job Overview:

We're hiring a Production Assistant to join a 2nd shift team at a local plastics manufacturer. In this role, you'll work within the Production department, providing set-up and process support for plastic injection molding machines. If you enjoy hands-on work and being part of a team that keeps production moving, we'd love to talk with you.


What You'll Do:

  • Prepare molding machines for production runs
  • Mold test shots and submit them for QA inspection
  • Adjust process parameters as needed to keep machines running properly
  • Remove, clean, and install machine components and dies
  • Verify proper resin materials and follow material recipes
  • Use established process parameters and manual machine controls during setup
  • Confirm all machine safety controls are functioning correctly
  • Purge molding material from machine barrels as required
  • Perform preventive maintenance per MPS and FRM documentation
  • Complete all documentation accurately, including wall charts, moisture checks, and FRM paperwork for new set-ups and restarts
  • Load material into hoppers and loaders, manage grinders, and document as required
  • Properly handle resins, oils, solvents, absorbents, grease, and tooling dies


Skills

  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Basic working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and how APRs interact with molding machines
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and Programmable Logic Controllers (a plus)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints (preferred)
