Job description

Join Our Team at Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop!
Are you ready to be part of something big? At Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop, we're not just selling candy-we're crafting experiences, creating incredible products, and building community.
If you're driven, passionate, and eager to make your mark, we want you on our team.
About Us
Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop was born in Pittsburgh, PA, in 2012. We've grown from a single store to 23 locations (and counting!) across Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, West Virginia, Minnesota, and Texas. We also offer national distribution of candy, soda, and gourmet popcorn to over 15,000 independent retailers nationwide.
The Role
As our Gourmet Popcorn Production Supervisor, you'll play a key role in producing one of Grandpa Joe's fastest-growing product lines. You'll oversee popcorn production from start to finish, ensuring every batch meets our standards for quality, consistency, and freshness.
This position is responsible for scheduling production, maintaining equipment, monitoring inventory, ordering popcorn kernels, oils, seasonings, coatings, packaging, and other production supplies. You'll also personally produce our signature gourmet popcorn by popping, coating, seasoning, packaging, and preparing each batch for distribution to our retail stores and wholesale customers.
Because popcorn production varies based on demand, production will not occur every day. During non-production times, you'll become an important part of our retail team by assisting customers, stocking merchandise, merchandising displays, and helping create the fun, memorable shopping experience Grandpa Joe's is known for.
This role isn't just about making popcorn-it's about making a difference and being part of something special.
Why Join Us
Opportunity for Growth
We're not just expanding our business; we're growing our team. As we continue to grow, there are opportunities for advancement and professional development. Your hard work won't go unnoticed here.
Make Your Mark
At Grandpa Joe's, your work matters. Every batch you produce, every process you improve, and every customer you help contributes directly to our success. You'll have the opportunity to innovate, collaborate, and see the impact of your work every day.
Be Part of a Thriving Team
Our team is supportive, collaborative, and passionate about what we do. When you join Grandpa Joe's, you're joining a community of people who love creating great products and delivering unforgettable customer experiences.
Community Involvement
We love being part of each unique neighborhood we're located in. Whether it's participating in community events or simply getting to know our neighbors, you're joining more than a company-you're joining a community.
What You'll Get
Competitive Benefits
We offer competitive pay, flexible scheduling, opportunities for bonuses and incentives, earned PTO and Sick Time, and generous team member discounts.
Training and Support
We'll provide the tools and training you need to succeed. Whether you have previous food production experience or are eager to learn, we'll teach you everything you need to know about producing Grandpa Joe's famous gourmet popcorn.
Fun and Fulfillment
At Grandpa Joe's, work isn't just a job-it's an adventure. We like to have a sense of humor, so get ready to laugh, learn, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Here's What We're Looking For
Production Leader: You enjoy creating quality products, staying organized, and taking pride in producing consistent results. Previous food production, commercial kitchen, manufacturing, or supervisory experience is preferred.
Organized & Detail-Oriented: You'll set production schedules, monitor inventory, order production supplies, and ensure everything is ready when it's time to produce.
Hands-On: You're comfortable operating production equipment, performing routine cleaning and preventative maintenance, and keeping your work area organized, safe, and food-safe.
Quality Focused: You care about consistency and take pride in producing products that meet Grandpa Joe's high standards every single time.
Works Well with Others: Friendly, fun, and easy-going; understands the impact of their actions on the entire team. We are a family-oriented business, meaning we care for each other like family (the ones we actually like).
Flexible: Production isn't scheduled every day, so you're happy to transition to retail responsibilities by assisting customers, stocking shelves, merchandising displays, receiving inventory, and supporting the store team wherever needed.
Great Energy: We value self-motivated individuals who can balance following established procedures while continuously looking for ways to improve our production and retail operations.
If we just described you, apply today!
How to Apply
If you're ready to be part of something big, we want to hear from you. Previous food production, manufacturing, commercial kitchen, or supervisory experience is a plus, but above all, we're looking for passionate, dedicated individuals who share our vision and values.
