The Opportunity:

The Environmental Services Manager is responsible for the organization and co-ordination of ancillary environmental services in the facility including maintenance services (grounds, equipment, machinery), laundry services and housekeeping services.
What Is In It For You:

  • Coordinates the hiring and evaluates the orientation program for all new staff members.
  • In collaboration with the Administrator, monitors and evaluates staff member performance and initiates disciplinary action, promotion or dismissal of staff members as required.
  • Conducts in-service education sessions and departmental staff meetings.
  • Completes work orders and communicates maintenance repair needs to corporate Project manager for final approval.
  • Ensures all supplies are ordered through approved suppliers.
  • Devises and implements work routines to meet the housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance requirements of the Long-Term Care residence.
  • Establishes methods and procedures for a preventative maintenance schedule and for minor repairs including housekeeping, laundry, and kitchen equipment; plumbing, electrical and heating systems; as well as doors and windows.
  • Ensures the requisition of materials and equipment, and the maintenance of supplies and inventory levels for environmental services.


What You Will Need:

  • Minimum of two years' experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Sound knowledge of the Long-Term Care Act, Nursing Home Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS and other pertinent Federal, Provincial and Municipal legislation that influences the operation of a Long-term care residence.
  • Extensive knowledge of maintenance and experience in building trades.
  • Post secondary education at the college or university level in an accredited course in building services supervision.
Salary: $60,000.00 per yearSalary placement based on qualifications and experience.
