Job description

Drive your career forward with Fox Valley Auto Group.

Fox Valley Auto Group is looking for a customer-focused Service Writer to join our busy service department. If you love working with people, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in delivering an outstanding customer experience, we want to hear from you. As the face of our service drive, you'll be the key link between our customers and our technicians — building trust, keeping people informed, and making sure every vehicle that comes through our doors gets the care it deserves.

What you'll do:

  • Greet service customers promptly and professionally, whether they arrive by appointment or drive-in
  • Listen to customer concerns, accurately document vehicle issues, and write clear, complete repair orders
  • Communicate recommended services, timelines, and pricing in a way customers understand and trust
  • Coordinate with technicians and parts staff to keep repairs moving and customers updated on status
  • Present estimates, secure approvals, and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction after the visit
  • Promote maintenance services and identify opportunities to help customers care for their vehicles
  • Maintain accurate records and meet dealership CSI (customer satisfaction) goals

What we're looking for:

  • Strong communication and people skills — you can explain things clearly and put customers at ease
  • Previous experience as a Service Advisor/Writer or in automotive service is a plus, but we'll train the right person
  • A customer-first attitude and the ability to stay organized when things get busy
  • Basic computer skills; experience with dealership software (Tekion) is a bonus
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent

What we offer:

  • Competitive pay [base + commission/incentive structure]
  • BCBSIL Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Ongoing training and real opportunities to grow within the Fox Valley Auto Group family
  • A supportive team and a well-established, respected dealership group

Ready to join our team? Apply today and help us keep Fox Valley drivers on the road with confidence.

Fox Valley Auto Group is an equal opportunity employer.
