Hatch currently has an opening Manager - Bus Operations and Service Planningย in ourย Brooklyn, NYย office.ย This position will supportย busย operations and service planningย projects such asย Bus Rapid Transitย (BRT), bus network redesign, zero emission transition planning,ย microtransit, and paratransit.ย Candidatesย are not required toย have experience in all areas highlighted in thisย posting.ย This is anย intermediateย position requiringย 10+ย years of experience.ย 

The ideal candidate is a motivated, results-driven professional interested inย operational planning,ย zero emissions technologies, environmental issues,ย managing projects,ย building business opportunities, developing clientย relationships,ย and delivering technicalย expertiseย and value to our partners and clients. Being capableย ofย workingย well with other employees or independently as wellย asย strong oral and written communication skills when interacting with outside vendors and clients is essential for this position. Candidates should be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines andย maintainingย a high levelย of quality.ย ย 

You bring to the role:ย 

  • BS degree inย planning or other relatedย degree.ย ย 

  • 10+ย years of progressively responsibleย engineeringย experience.ย 

  • Experience working withย majorย transit agencies.ย 

  • Experience completing network redesigns of bus networks.ย 

  • Experience planning forย newย BRT service.ย 

  • Experience with business development and proposal development for consulting work.ย

Asย theย successful candidate, you will:ย 

  • Manage projects relatedย busย operations and service planning.ย 

  • Provideย technicalย expertiseย to supportย cross-discipline project teams planning,ย designingย and implementingย bus and paratransitย solutions for our clients.ย 

  • Complete cost estimates associated withย planned projects.ย 

  • Serveย asย subjectย matter expert onย busย fleetย planning.ย ย 

  • Develop cost estimates and life cycle analyses to assess existing bus operations.ย 

  • Review technical documents such as design plans and other engineering related deliverables.ย 

  • Produce quality assurance plans and oversee quality control programs.ย 

  • Prepare technical documents/reports andย presentย to clients, project teams, etc.ย ย 

  • Develop andย maintainย productive working relationships.ย 

  • Continuous, effective communication and relationship building with clients in the development and implementation of projects.ย

Base Compensation: $130,000 - $155,000 (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)

  • Retirement Savings: 401(k) with employer match of 50% per dollar up to 6%, fully vested after three years; additional 3% in profit-sharing contribution after one year of employment (immediately vested)
  • Paid Time Away from Work: 3-4 weeks of vacation based on experience and company discretion, prorated in the 1st year based on hire date (up to 2.5 weeks can be carried over per year); 10 paid holidays; 10 sick days per calendar year, with the ability to carry-over sick time to a maximum of 40 days to be used for future FMLA-qualifying events; Partial Paid Parental leave up to 12 weeks for birth parents and 4 weeks for non-birth parents
