Federal Buildings & Facilities Market Sector Leader

Position summary:JMT is seeking a Federal Buildings and Facilities Market Sector Leader responsible for driving growth, strategy, client engagement, and operational excellence. This position falls within our broader Federal market, with a primary focus on planning, architectural, engineering, and project management and construction management solutions across MILCON, sustainment, restoration, modernization, and alternative delivery efforts. Working closely with business development, marketing, and project delivery teams, the Market Sector Leader identifies new opportunities, advances client relationships, and positions the firm's services and drives growth within the sector. This role coordinates sector-specific initiatives, monitors performance, and ensures efforts support the broader market objectives.

Compensation for this position is $165,000.00 - $225,000.00, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. Essential functions and responsibilities
  • Market Strategy and Growth:
    • Develop and execute a market-specific growth strategy by analyzing clients, funding sources, competitors, industry trends, and emerging opportunities to drive market expansion.
    • Strengthen market presence through client engagement, marketing and industry involvement.
    • Collaborate and coordinate with market, regional, office, and service line leaders to align strategic priorities and maintain a strong, balanced opportunity pipeline.
    • Review and contribute to proposals, pricing strategies, and risk assessments.
  • Performance Monitoring and Analysis:
    • Develop and manage market-specific risk, quality, safety, pricing, and scope development processes consistent with organizational policy and processes.
    • Monitor market-specific -level financial performance (revenue, margin, multiplier, backlog, utilization) and take corrective action as needed. Collaborate with the primary market leader, regional leaders, and service line leaders to drive market sector improvements and effectiveness.
  • Recruitment and Staff Development:
    • Collaborate with JMT’s Federal Market Leader, National Business Line Leader, regional leaders, and business and service line leaders in the recruitment of key hires to support the market with priority, strategic growth, technical capabilities, and succession planning.
  • Technical & Practice Leadership:
    • Serve as a technical and strategic resource to project managers and technical staff.
    • Support consistent technical standards, delivery approaches, and best practices across the market.
  • Identify and resolve internal barriers impacting growth, delivery, or performance.
  • Monitor emerging technologies, tools, and delivery approaches relevant to the market.
  • Champion practical innovation that improves efficiency, quality, differentiation, and client value.

Required Skills

Required Experience

Preferred Experience
  • Professional licensure, certification, or equivalent credential appropriate to the role, discipline, or market.
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Knowledge and experience with AEC industry desired
  • Knowledge and experience with consulting firms desired.
Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

Travel is expected throughout the United States and other Worldwide locations as required to support the business line and the operations of our local offices.
