Job Summary

Panelmatic is seeking an experienced and results-driven Integration Manager to lead and oversee integration operations at the Conroe facility. The Integration Manager will be responsible for the overall performance of the integration department, including production planning, team leadership, project execution, quality, safety, testing, and continuous improvement.

This role will oversee the integration of industrial control panels, automation systems, electrical equipment, and related systems while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, applicable standards, and Panelmatic quality requirements.

The Integration Manager will work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Production, Procurement, Quality, and other departments to coordinate resources, resolve technical and production challenges, and ensure successful project completion and delivery.

The ideal candidate is a strong hands-on leader with extensive experience in industrial control panel manufacturing, electrical integration, automation systems, and production management. This individual should be comfortable managing people, projects, and processes while driving accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Job Duties
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for the Integration Department.
  • Manage, develop, and support Integration Supervisors, Leads, Technicians, and other department personnel.
  • Establish daily, weekly, and long-term production priorities based on project schedules and customer requirements.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and resources are available to meet production and delivery commitments.
  • Monitor employee performance, productivity, attendance, and development.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and performance.
  • Participate in hiring, interviewing, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management activities.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of skilled integration personnel.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify training needs and establish development plans for integration employees.
  • Conduct regular department meetings and communicate company, project, and production priorities.
  • Production & Project Execution
  • Oversee the integration, assembly, wiring, testing, and completion of industrial control panels and automation systems.
  • Develop and manage production plans to support project schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Monitor department capacity, workload, labor utilization, and production progress.
  • Ensure projects are properly prioritized and resources are allocated effectively.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement solutions to maintain workflow.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address schedule risks.
  • Coordinate with Project Management to ensure integration activities align with overall project timelines.
  • Ensure completed work is properly prepared for testing, inspection, FAT, shipment, and delivery.
  • Assist with production planning, material requirements, and resource forecasting.
  • Ensure integration activities are completed efficiently while maintaining quality and customer requirements.
  • Technical & Integration Oversight
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex electrical integration and automation projects.
  • Ensure electrical assemblies and control systems are built according to engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and other technical documentation as needed.
  • Support troubleshooting of electrical, control, and automation systems.
  • Provide direction during system testing, troubleshooting, commissioning preparation, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Oversee integration of PLCs, VFDs, relays, instrumentation, control systems, and other automation equipment.
  • Work with Engineering to resolve design, drawing, or technical issues affecting production.
  • Ensure engineering changes and revisions are properly communicated and implemented within the integration department.
  • Serve as a technical resource for Supervisors, Leads, and Technicians.
  • Quality & Compliance
  • Establish and maintain department standards for quality and workmanship.
  • Ensure integration work complies with UL508A, NEC, customer specifications, engineering requirements, and Panelmatic standards.
  • Monitor quality throughout the production process and ensure issues are identified and corrected promptly.
  • Review inspection results and recurring quality issues to identify root causes.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to reduce defects, rework, and production delays.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Engineering to resolve non-conformances and customer requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained for inspections, testing, and project completion.
  • Support internal and customer inspections, audits, and Factory Acceptance Testing activities.
  • Safety
  • Promote and enforce all company safety policies, procedures, and required PPE standards.
  • Maintain a safe working environment throughout the Integration Department.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained in safe work practices, tools, equipment, and electrical safety procedures.
  • Address unsafe work practices and conditions promptly.
  • Participate in safety meetings, investigations, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Ensure department activities comply with applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve integration processes, productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement standard work practices and procedures.
  • Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Reduce unnecessary labor, material waste, rework, and production delays.
  • Promote consistent processes across integration teams and projects.
  • Evaluate tools, equipment, technology, and processes that could improve department performance.
  • Establish measurable goals and monitor progress toward department objectives.
  • Materials & Resource Management
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Production to ensure materials and components are available when needed.
  • Monitor material shortages and identify potential impacts to project schedules.
  • Assist with inventory planning and material requirements.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and production resources are properly maintained and available.
  • Identify equipment or resource needs and communicate recommendations to leadership.
  • Help control department expenses and manage resources efficiently.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Quality, Production, and other departments.
  • Participate in project planning and production meetings.
  • Communicate project status, production challenges, resource needs, and schedule risks to leadership.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to resolve drawing and design issues.
  • Work with Project Management to ensure customer commitments are understood and achievable.
  • Partner with Quality to establish and maintain quality standards.
  • Support successful customer inspections, FAT activities, and project turnover.
  • Reporting & Performance Management
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Integration Department.
  • Track production output, labor utilization, schedule adherence, quality, rework, safety, and other department metrics.
  • Maintain accurate production and departmental records.
  • Analyze performance data and develop action plans when goals are not being met.
  • Provide regular department performance updates to senior leadership.
  • Use data and reporting to drive operational and staffing decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial control panel manufacturing, electrical integration, automation, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing, electrical, or integration environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, and automation equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical panel construction and integration.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and layout drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop production teams.
  • Experience managing production schedules, labor utilization, and department performance.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform work within a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Industrial Systems, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience managing an electrical integration or control panel manufacturing department.
  • Familiarity with UL508A, NEC, and applicable industrial electrical standards.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Experience working with custom electrical control panels and automation systems.
