Job description

Tecta America East serves the Mid-Atlantic region, including Baltimore, Washington DC, and Virginia. We specialize in commercial and industrial roofing, offering new and re-roof installation, maintenance, and energy-efficient solutions, including green roofs and photovoltaic solar systems. Backed by experienced craftsmen and expert crews, we deliver reliable service and innovative solutions for all roofing needs. We are seeking a Commercial Roofing Service Estimator/Project Manager for our Jessup, MD location.

The Service Director will be responsible for overseeing the service department, mentoring it's management team, developing business opportunities, and bidding work

Job Functions (includes):

  • Must have strong professional leadership skills and operate with a strong sense of urgency, organization and attention to detail in all aspects of the service department.
  • Ability to mentor and oversea the Service Manager and the service team in all aspects.
  • Sets goals for the service department, including each individual team member, and ensures goals are met, and implements performance improvement plans as necessary.
  • Manages and ensures that service team members are operating within their assigned roles and implements changes as necessary to maximize efficiency within the service department.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships to broaden Tecta's bidding pool.
  • Produces project estimates for commercial roofing, waterproofing, and sheet metal service projects.
  • Tracks departments job costing vs. profit rates, and implements changes as required to maximize profitability.
  • Tracks service department submitted bid proposals, provides best and final offers, and negotiates as required to achieve a high project award rate.
  • Reviews and approves proposals and contracts for completeness and accuracy, and to verify that they do not compromise company policy or exceed intended scope of work.
  • Develop detailed prequalification and technical proposal packages.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of business, management, and leadership principles.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, college degree a plus.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of commercial roofing estimating experiencerequired.
  • Critical skills include planning & organizing; problem identification/resolution, attention to detail, multi-tasking, follow-through, priority setting, and accomplishing tasks in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to lead and manage all aspects of the service department and it's field team.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
  • Prior service department or production project management experience a plus, but not required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to clearly convey concepts, assumptions, and thought patterns used to develop specific estimates and bid letters.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment Background Check, Drug Test and be E-Verified.

Salary starting at $95,000 and up, dependent upon experience. Commission-based compensation package is available for consideration in lieu of salary for the right candidate.
