Hybrid Position
We're looking for a compassionate and solutions-focused Independent Living Coordinator to join our muti-functional team. IL Coordinators provide core IL services, including IL skills training, advocacy, information and referral, and transition services. They guide individuals in identifying and achieving goals and provide training, coaching, and other supports. IL Coordinators also assist with organizing and facilitating workshops, classes, and activities, and create and build community initiatives and relationships.
As an IL Coordinator, you'll partner directly with individuals to provide:
  • Goal-Oriented Support:Collaborate with individuals to develop personalized goal plans and deliver IL services designed to achieve those goals.
  • Solution-Focused Assistance:Research, explore, and assess various options to address complex challenges, offering individuals informed and actionable solutions.
  • Advocacy and Empowerment:Foster an environment that encourages choice, self-advocacy, and skill-building, empowering individuals to navigate challenges effectively.

  • A Working knowledge of the Independent Living Movement, Independent Living Philosophy, and the history of Centers for Independent Living (CILs).
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services related field, or lived/work experience in lieu of formal education.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a disability or human services role, or related field required.
  • Valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review or ability to commute as required.
  • Lawfully authorized to work in the United States.
  • Satisfactory Minnesota Department of Human Services background check.
