Internal Service Advisor

Pro-X Powersports, Inc

Ooltewah, TN

Full-time

Job description

We are hiring an Internal Service Advisor to manage the service and accessory work performed for our sales department. Internal work accounts for approximately 60% of our service department’s monthly revenue, making this a high-impact position with significant performance-bonus potential. You will coordinate custom builds, accessory installations, inspections, and repairs on units being prepared for sale or delivery. This position works directly with sales, parts, and technicians and does not handle retail service customers. Base salary is $42,000 annually, plus monthly performance bonuses.

Revised Detailed Description

Our Internal Service Advisor manages the service and accessory work generated by our sales department. This includes custom builds, accessory installations, inspections, repairs, and upgrades performed on new and used ATVs, UTVs, boats, lawn equipment, and other powersports products after they are placed on the sales floor or delivered to a customer.

This is not a traditional retail Service Advisor position. You will not manage outside repair customers or a public-facing service lane. Instead, you will work directly with our sales, parts, and service teams to move units efficiently from the initial sales request through final completion.

Internal sales work generates approximately 60% of our service department’s monthly revenue. Because of that volume, this is a key revenue-producing position with substantial influence over departmental gross profit, turnaround time, and the customer’s final delivery experience.

The ideal candidate is organized, financially driven, proactive, and comfortable managing a high volume of work. You must be able to anticipate problems, communicate across departments, and keep units moving without needing constant direction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all service and accessory work requested by the sales department.
  • Coordinate custom builds, upgrades, accessory installations, inspections, and repairs.
  • Open, maintain, and close internal repair orders accurately.
  • Ensure all parts, accessories, labor, pricing, and documentation are properly assigned.
  • Work closely with sales managers, parts personnel, technicians, and service management.
  • Prioritize sold units, scheduled deliveries, and sales-floor inventory.
  • Track each unit from the initial request through completion.
  • Provide accurate and timely completion updates to the sales department.
  • Identify missing parts, scheduling conflicts, and other delays after they affect delivery.
  • Verify that completed work matches the original request after releasing the unit.
  • Protect departmental gross by reviewing pricing, parts, labor, and repair-order accuracy.
  • Monitor aging repair orders and ensure work is completed, billed, and closed promptly.
  • Complete required daily task lists and management processes.
  • Contribute directly to monthly service revenue and gross-profit goals.
  • Maintain reliable attendance, urgency, and accountability.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous Service Advisor, service coordination, parts, or dealership experience is preferred.
  • Powersports, automotive, marine, or equipment dealership experience is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with accessories, parts, labor, and repair-order processes.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of units and changing priorities.
  • Strong financial awareness and attention to gross profit.
  • Excellent communication and follow-through.
  • Ability to work effectively across sales, parts, and service departments.
  • Comfortable using dealership management and repair-order software.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and driven by measurable results.
  • Stable work history and reliable attendance.

Compensation:

  • $42,000 annual base salary, paid semi-monthly.
  • Strong monthly bonus opportunity based on service department gross, achievement of established performance goals, and the advisor’s individual contribution.
  • This position manages a segment of the business responsible for approximately 60% of the service department’s monthly revenue.
