BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time Registered Vascular Sonographer for Memorial Hospital (Belleville, IL) & Memorial Hospital (Shiloh, IL) - Cardiac Diagnostics Dept
Position Details:
  • Shift Hours: Mon-Fri (8a-430p) working every 7th Saturday & call that Sunday from 7am-noon
  • Venous/Arterial duplex/doppler peripheral and abdominal

Requirements:
  • Associate degree or Trade School equivalency (or higher level of education)
  • ARDMS or CCI registered RVS or RVT

Experience:
  • If you have experience in one of the following areas, you could be a good fit: Upcoming Graduating Sonography Students, Radiology students, Registered Sonographer, Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Ultrasound Technician, Ultrasound Technologist, or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Abdominal, Vascular, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS)

Overview
Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services plus critical and emergency care including Children's at Memorial for pediatric emergency care. It provides patients a full complement of diagnostic and treatment services as well as heart and vascular care. Memorial, offering medical and surgical services plus critical care, is an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care and is designated as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital by the Illinois Department of Public Health. In addition, Memorial Belleville recently was accredited by the American College of Radiology as a designated Lung Cancer Screening Center. Since 2008, it has been designated as a Magnet®-recognized organization for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Memorial Hospital Shiloh, a 94-bed, all-private suite hospital was recognized with Magnet status in 2018 and provides emergency care, labor & delivery, nursery, medical and surgical services plus critical care.
The Cardiovascular Unit of Memorial Hospital is a diagnostic and therapeutic services department. Services delivered are based upon direct physician orders and are available in both the in- and out-patient setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
The Registered Vascular Sonographer performs a variety of tests to adult and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Exams include, but not limited to, carotid imaging, peripheral plethysmography, doppler wave form, segmental pressure, venous and arterial imaging, and thoracic outlet studies. May also perform vascular procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Performs vascular ultrasound imaging examinations and ensures proper documentation of procedures.
  • Performs vascular studies independently, may perform studies on-call, portable exams, and at other sites as required by work area.
  • Ensures proper function and readiness of all equipment.
