Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Outside Account Manager to drive business growth and strengthen customer relationships across an established territory. This role is ideal for a hunter-style sales professional with 5-8 years of B2B industrial sales experience who thrives on developing new business while managing some customer accounts.
Working closely with internal teams, you will become a trusted advisor to your customers, gaining a deep understanding of their operations and providing solutions that support their business while driving profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to offices, shops, and job sites to understand customer needs and uncover sales opportunities.
  • Own the full sales cycle, including prospecting, territory planning, quoting, order management, and account growth.
  • Develop and execute territory strategies to increase market share and exceed sales targets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure exceptional customer service and timely resolution of customer inquiries and issues.
  • Partner with the Credit team to support accounts receivable and maintain healthy customer relationships.
  • Work with key supplier partners to implement strategic growth initiatives and participate in industry events and trade shows.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety and company policies while supporting the overall success of the branch.
Qualifications
  • College diploma and/or university degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of outside B2B sales or account management experience, ideally within industrial distribution, pipes, valves, fittings, mechanical, HVAC, fluid handling, or related markets.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business while growing existing customer accounts.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and territory planning abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/order management systems.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience selling industrial products such as pipe, valves, fittings, flow control, HVAC, or other mechanical products.
  • Knowledge of the Western Canadian industrial, energy, or construction markets is considered a strong asset.
