What is a Server Plus and what do they do?

A Server Plus, often called a Server+ or Server Plus Technician, is an IT professional responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting servers in a business environment. They ensure that server hardware and software run smoothly, manage server security, perform backups, and resolve network or connectivity issues. Server Plus technicians typically work with operating systems like Windows Server or Linux, support users, and help optimize server performance. This role often requires knowledge of virtualization, cloud technologies, and basic networking. Many employers look for candidates who have the CompTIA Server+ certification, which validates these skills.
