Job description

ASSEMBLER
General Devices is looking for an experienced Assembly Technician to join our final assembly team. This role is ideal for someone with strong assembly skills, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail. Successful candidates will assemble, inspect, and package a wide variety of products ranging from large server cabinets and equipment racks to smaller sheet metal assemblies and rail kits.
We manufacture products for world-class customers in the medical, telecom, data center, defense, and industrial markets.
Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, Overtime Available
Pay Range: $20-25 per hour depending on experience.
What You Will Do
  • Assemble finished products and sub-assemblies using blueprints, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
  • Build a wide variety of products including server cabinets, equipment racks, rail kits, and sheet metal assemblies.
  • Inspect parts and assemblies to ensure quality standards are met throughout the assembly process.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and job travelers.
  • Plan assembly sequences and identify potential fit-up or assembly issues.
  • Test completed products and sub-assemblies to verify functionality and compliance with specifications.
  • Perform rework, repair, and rebuild activities when necessary.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices safely and effectively.
  • Package finished products for shipment using banding, shrink-wrap, and other packaging methods.
  • Move materials and finished goods using pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment as required.
  • Assist with loading, staging, and preparing products for shipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support other production departments as business needs require.
What We Are Looking For
  • 2–5 years of assembly, manufacturing, fabrication, or production experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Arm and hand mobility required.
  • Ability to lift 30-40 lb intermittently.
  • Ability to safely handle large assemblies, cabinets, and finished products throughout the production process.
