  • Per Diem: $80/Day, 7 days a week while traveling ($2,400+/month)
  • Project Bonus: $2500K-$5,000K

Start Date: Early September 2026

Job Type: Full Time

Position Overview

This is a 5-month traveling assignment (late September 2026 through February/March 2027) with full-time hours straight through the winter, when most roofing crews get sent home. You'll start with a paid training week in early September, then travel to Ohio with your crew for the duration of the project. This is not a temp job - you're hired as a full-time JR & Co. employee in your home market, and when the project wraps, you come home to a permanent spot on your local crew with a company that has a 40-year track record and a deep backlog.

What You'll Earn

Total project earnings: $45,000–$85,000 over 5 months, including wages, per diem, and bonus. Where you land in that range depends on your experience level.

Monthly breakdown while on the project:

  • Wages: $6,000–$13,600 per month depending on experience (60-hour weeks with overtime)
  • Per diem: $2,400+ per month ($80/day, 7 days a week)
  • Total: approximately $8,500–$17,000 per month depending on experience
  • Project completion bonus: $2,500 for crew members, $5,000 for experienced journeyman/foreman-level roofers (paid $1,000/month)
  • Guaranteed 6-day, 10-hour schedule with overtime every week—no winter layoff
  • A permanent home: full-time position on your local market's crew when the project is complete

Schedule & Travel

  • 6 days per week, 10 hours per day (20 hours of overtime weekly)
  • Travel to project site in Ohio from late September 2026 through February/March 2027
  • Fly home for holidays
  • Lodging arrangements plus $80 daily per diem, paid 7 days a week while on the road

Key Responsibilities

  • Install commercial roofing systems safely and to JR & Co. quality standards
  • Load, stage, and handle roofing materials and equipment
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols, including fall protection at heights
  • Work as part of a tight-knit traveling crew - show up on time, work hard, and look out for your teammates
  • Experienced journeyman/foreman: lead by example, train and mentor younger crew members, and take accountability for your crew's quality and safety

Qualifications

  • For experienced journeymen and foreman-level roofers: 3–5+ years commercial roofing experience
  • For crew members: Construction experience preferred, not required
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a genuine desire to work and earn
  • Able to commit to 5 months of travel (home for holidays)
  • Pass a background check and drug screen; meet project site access requirements
  • Reliable transportation to your home market's shop; valid driver's license preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day
  • Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions
  • Able to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and walk on rooftops for 10-hour shifts

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Weekly Pay
  • Long-term career path - crew members who perform on this project will be retained as a permanent employee at JR&Co
