Sentara offers a newly graduated Registered Nurse with less than 12 months of experience, a Nurse Residency Program that can give you the skills and support you need to make a successful transition into your professional practice.

What the program offers:

  • No separate application and no application deadlines.
  • Automatic enrollment for all newly hired graduate nurses.
  • Available at all 12 Sentara hospitals.
  • After orientation, begin your Residency right away.
  • 6-months of hands-on experience alongside trained preceptors in 6 areas: Medical-Surgical, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency, Operating Room, and Women's Health
  • Topics such as career pathing, professional development, leadership, self-care, and stress management.
