Care First Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team as a full-time telehealth practitioner. This role is fully remote, providing flexibility and convenience for both the counselor and clients. You will conduct sessions through our secure telehealth platform, connecting with clients from the comfort of their homes while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify their specific emotional and psychological needs.
• Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions focused on issues such as grief, anxiety, and adjustment to life changes associated with aging.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to design and implement personalized care plans that address the holistic well-being of geriatric clients.
• Educate clients' families and staff on effective strategies to improve emotional health and enrich the quality of life for older adults.
• Provide specialized grief and loss counseling to clients and their families confronting end-of-life issues.
• Implement cognitive stimulation therapies and mental health interventions to enhance mental acuity in elderly clients, utilizing innovative methods tailored to their needs.

Our primary focus is on senior citizens experiencing various mental health challenges. As an LMHC working with Care First Counseling Center, you will engage with a diverse population of elderly individuals, many of whom are navigating complex emotional landscapes related to aging, loss, and transition. You will play a key role in helping clients manage conditions such as depression, anxiety, and the psychological implications of chronic illness.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required.
• Current, valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida.
• A minimum of four years of recent experience in providing mental health counseling to geriatric populations.
• Proven track record in developing treatment plans and providing individual and group therapy tailored to elderly clients.
• Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based practices in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with older adults and their families.
• A high level of cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong assessment skills and a robust ethical framework guiding your practice in mental health counseling.

• Additional training or certifications in geriatric mental health or specific therapeutic modalities.
• Experience with telehealth services and familiarity with virtual therapy tools and platforms.
• Demonstrable skills in conducting cognitive-behavioral interventions, mindfulness techniques, and psychoeducation specific to elderly clients.
