THE COMPANY

A leading and well established architecture and design practice with deep roots in public and institutional work is seeking a Senior Architect to join its Ottawa team. The firm is widely recognized for delivering innovative, sustainable, and community-focused design solutions across multiple sectors, including defense and federal projects. With an extensive project pipeline and a collaborative studio culture, this is an opportunity to influence some of the city's most meaningful projects from concept to completion.

THE ROLE

As a Senior Architect, you will take ownership of complex architectural projects—guiding them through design, documentation, and construction phases. You'll manage diverse client relationships, coordinate internal and external teams, and ensure project delivery aligns with expectations. This role will have you being the lead client correspondent, leading design charrettes, presenting to the client and leading the architecture team.

This role requires strategic thinking and technical precision. You'll lead multidisciplinary coordination, oversee project delivery, and mentor junior team members—all while ensuring a seamless dialogue between client vision, project execution, and regulatory requirements. You'll work closely with senior leadership int he firm to uphold design excellence across all stages.

WHAT'S REQUIRED

  • At least 10 years of relevant architectural experience in an architectural lead role, including at least 4+ years working as a licensed architect
  • Experience delivering public or institutional projects (preferably some defense projects)
  • Eligibility for federal security clearance is required** (Must not of resided in or visited a country on the government exclusion list in the past 10 years - Pakistan, India, Iran, Russia or China)
  • Proven knowledge of Canadian building codes, construction methods, and project delivery standards
  • Registration with a provincial architectural association (OAA, OAQ, or equivalent) an asset
  • Proficiency working through all phases of projects 
  • Knowledgeable with using Revit
  • Exceptional communication, and organizational skills
  • A disciplined yet creative approach to managing diverse projects and teams
