Job description

Job Title: Senior Group Fitness Instructor

Job Summary: To teach 4 separate senior group fitness classes AT A Senior Health Convention at the San Jose Hilton, 3000 Almaden Blvd, San Jose on Sept. 29th.


Svetness Corp is seeking an energetic and compassionate Senior Group Fitness Instructor  to lead engaging fitness classes designed specifically for our active aging population. This instructor will create safe, effective, and enjoyable workouts that support strength, balance, mobility, and cardiovascular health while fostering a welcoming community environment for members attending a convention.for senior health.The ideal candidate is passionate about helping older adults stay active, independent, and socially connected through fitness.

Background: The keynote speaker for the Retired Public Employees Association will from Stanford University Robotics Center with a focus on interactive robotics systems that are designed to improve the lives of older adults, encourage healthy habits and reduce social isolation.


Any delegate attending the convention can take a 50 minute class/workshop for the following classes:

  • Chair Yoga 8 to 8:50 a.m.
  • Strength Training with Bands (bands provided) 9 - 9:50 a.m.
  • Balance Training 10 - 10:50 a.m.
  • Flexibility/Mobility Training 111 - 11:50 a.m.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Lead safe, effective, and engaging group fitness classes designed for active older adults.

  • Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and exercise modifications to accommodate a variety of fitness levels and physical abilities.
  • Incorporate exercises that improve strength, balance, mobility, flexibility, and cardiovascular health.
  • Create a supportive and welcoming class atmosphere that encourages participation and community among members.
  • Monitor participants throughout class to ensure proper technique and safety.
  • Prepare structured class plans appropriate for the senior population.

Qualifications

· Current nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM, or equivalent).

· CPR/AED and First Aid Certification required.

  • Certification or specialization in Senior Fitness, Active Aging, SilverSneakers, or Functional Aging preferred.
  • Previous experience teaching group fitness classes, especially with older adults.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong member-service mindset.

Skills & Competencies

· Knowledge of functional fitness, balance training, and fall prevention.

  • Ability to provide modifications for common conditions such as arthritis, joint limitations, and osteoporosis.
  • Ability to motivate and connect with members in a positive and encouraging way.
  • Strong focus on member experience and community building

Work Location: In person class to be taught at theSan Jose California Hilton Hotel. These classes will be taught only 1 time.
