Job description

Seeking qualified professionals to support Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aviation Safety) is a collaborative government-industry initiative that integrates multiple safety databases to proactively detect hazards, monitor known risks, and evaluate safety mitigations across the National Airspace System.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, draft, revise, and edit technical documentation, including reports, guidance materials, manuals, and stakeholder-facing products
  • Translate complex aviation, operational, and regulatory information into clear, accessible content for Government, industry, and public audiences
  • Support development of technical communications and outreach materials related to aviation safety, NAS performance, and emerging technologies
  • Analyze and organize content to improve clarity, usability, and consistency across documentation and communication products, including 508-compliance and accessibility oriented technical communications
  • Collaborate with technical subject matter experts and multidisciplinary teams to develop accurate, high-quality documentation and communication products

Desired
  • Experience developing stakeholder-facing communications, executive briefings, or high-visibility outreach materials for technical or aviation programs
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex aviation, operational, or regulatory concepts into clear, audience-appropriate products for diverse stakeholder groups
  • Experience supporting communication strategies or outreach efforts for FAA, Government, or regulated technical programs
  • Experience producing or managing technical documentation or communications across multiple formats, audiences, or delivery channels
  • Experience working with FAA Headquarters and supporting cross-organizational collaboration and executive-level communications

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, English, journalism, history, political science or equivalent degrees are required PLUS fifteen years of experience performing the foregoing technical writing functions.
  • US Citizen or Green Card Permanent Resident (minimum 3+ years of U.S. residency) and Public Trust approval
