Job description

Overview

SUMMARY:

The Senior Windows Systems Administrator shall demonstrate experience in systems administration in the following operating systems: Windows. The specialized experience includes Windows system administration of WSUS and third party solutions, GPOs Windows Server and Windows Workstations, Thin Clients (hardware/software) and documentation creation/updates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Possess the ability to install, configure and maintain Operating Systems.
  • Manage the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates and enhancements.
  • Conduct testing, troubleshooting, performance optimization and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
  • Provide support including end user assistance.
  • Perform functions such as manage accounts, network rights, access to systems and equipment; maintain systems configuration and backups.
  • Create and maintain documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Create, monitor and maintain backups/restoration of systems and files.
  • Conduct research of new and upcoming technologies.
  • Provide input for future systems and purchases.
  • Demonstrate general knowledge of enterprise frameworks and methodologies.
  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE
  • At least 6 years of system administration experience.
  • Must have a DOD Secret security clearance and have or be able to obtain an SSBI.
  • As per Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 8140.01, this position shall require Information Assurance Technicians (IAT) Level 2 certification; this includes both an Information Assurance (IA) certification and an Operating System (OS) certification.
  • The OS certification requirement will be for Unix/Linux or Windows depending on the position.
  • The Senior Systems Administrator is required to maintain the DoD 8140.01 IAT Level 2 certification for the life of the contract.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.
