GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Houston Rockets are seeking a passionate and talented Sr. Producer and Editor ready to work in a creative production environment. Our department is responsible for creating original content, features, commercials, sales pitches, campaigns and delivering via streaming services, apps, and social media platforms both quickly and systematically for the Houston Rockets, our partners, and Landry's as needed. This role will work closely with the Directors, Managers and video production team to create engaging Rockets content and manage high-tier projects/initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
  • Produce original video content for marketing/sales initiatives to deliver on in-arena, digital, and internal platforms including player features, intro videos, sales pitches, brand campaigns, commercials, highlight recaps, sponsor features, and other miscellaneous items.
  • Support sales teams with crafting video content that engages new clients, fans, and sponsors through high-level visuals and compelling narratives.
  • Actively participate in new content development, from ideation to creation.
  • Utilize strong visual storytelling skills with an understanding of ideation, storyboards, and pitching ideas that are within budget and on time.
  • Manage all phases of production including but not limited to, pre-production planning (creating shot lists, location scouting, scripting) Production and Post-Production for some projects.
  • Lead other members of group to develop original compelling video content for existing and potential fans, our partners, and Landry's over a variety of mediums.
  • Keep up to date on latest industry trends and technology to incorporate in Rockets video production toolkit.
  • Contribute innovative content ideas for digital and in-arena platforms that elevate the Rockets brand and lead the sports entertainment industry.
  • Reinforce workflow standards within department, maintain quality control and brand continuity through all outgoing content.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment.
  • Edit and enhance video footage using industry-standard editing software, adding graphics, music, and other elements to elevate the quality of the final product.
  • Understand color correction, audio mastering, and use of different codecs.
  • Help build/log/maintain digital video library.
  • Solicit feedback from stakeholders and audience members to continually refine and improve the quality of our video content and storytelling.
  • Assist in capturing video footage at studio shoots, events, Rockets' games as needed.
  • Demonstrate our One Team philosophy of Passion, Accountability, Customer Focus, and Teamwork.

MINIMUM QUALIIFFICATIONS:
  • Associate's degree, bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years working in Premiere or an equivalent editing software
  • 5+ years working with professional cinema cameras
  • 2+ years working in DaVinci or equivalent coloring software
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient in After Effects / Photoshop
  • Willing to work nights and weekends
  • Some travel may be required

  • The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
  • The employee must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs.
  • The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed in light of the strong focus on external communications and relationships
