Job description

Title:
Manager, Risk Management & Insurance
At KBR, We Deliver.
KBR ISA (Integrated Solutions Americas) delivers integrated, end-to-end engineering, procurement, and construction management services to the refining, LNG, midstream, chemicals, petrochemicals, oil and gas, power, and industrial infrastructure sectors. Our focus spans proprietary technology, consulting, and energy transition to complete delivery of major capital projects and programs.
KBR is seeking a Manager, Risk Management & Insurance to support KBR's corporate risk management and loss prevention programs, including the management of insurance, contractual risk review, and insurance claims management. This position will also support the development, monitoring and automation of KBR's risk management and insurance framework to better serve KBRs business units driving towards best practices, efficiency and automation.
This position is based out of our headquarters in Houston, Texas, and follows a remote work schedule. Remote work arrangements may be considered for qualified candidates located elsewhere within the United States.
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Review Risk Management related provisions in contracts including insurance, indemnities, and risk of loss.
  • Manage the placement of project and/or country specific insurance programs as well as assist in the procurement of the corporate insurance programs.
  • Assist in the claim recovery process for insured claims including the collection and coordination of claims information flow between insurance companies, third-party administrators, involved parties and business units.
  • Initiate and coordinate improvements in Risk Management Department policies and procedures in conjunction with the Treasurer and Director of Risk Management.
  • Provide internal training to business units on Risk Management functions and procedures.
  • Assist the Director of Risk Management in presentation of underwriting information to insurers and brokers.
  • Support the Enterprise Risk Management function in coordinating corporate risk assessment and reporting tasks.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • 10+ years of risk management and/or insurance industry experience at a global firm.
  • Bachelor's Degree required with a focus in Finance, Business, or Insurance/Risk Management preferred.
  • Experience in the placement of international master and project specific insurance programs.
  • Communicates and collaborates well with team and across organizational boundaries to ensure the successful completion of shared goals.
  • Self-motivated, empowered, requires minimal oversight with heighten desire to use innovation to continuously improve processes ensuring work is performed in the most efficient, effective, timely, accurate manner.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable leading meetings and able to communicate issues and trends to senior management.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Application skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe/PDF, MS Teams

Preferred Education & Skills:
  • Insurance claims management experience.
  • CRIS, CPCU, CRM, ARM, or similar designations.

Basic Compensation:
$124,000-$186,000. The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, abilities and / or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
