The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Training and Development Manager - Senior to provide support for our government customer in Orlando, Florida.
Training system support consists of providing knowledge and expertise in the operation, employment, maintenance, or repair of systems, subsystems, or equipment related to military training systems.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan, direct, or coordinate the training and development activities and staff of an organization.
  • Provide knowledge and expertise in the operation, employment, maintenance, or repair of systems, subsystems, or equipment related to military training systems.
  • Review and audit training materials designed for training instructors, apply educational

  • Support the Instructional Systems Analysts in identifying/validating training requirements.
  • Support the Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychologist in developing human performance metrics.
  • Develop target audience learning profiles.
  • Provide technical expertise in developing straw man task lists to expedite the task analysis process.
  • Guide the conduct of task analysis workshops.
  • Support the Instructional Systems Analyst in determining the most appropriate courseware presentation and media for the subject matter.
  • Provide consultation concerning the level of difficulty of assessment items.
  • Develop POA&M(s), research proposals, research designs and strategies, progress reports, and prepare final reports.
  • Serve as advisor and consultant to various NAWCTSD Orlando acquisition functions and other Navy and DOD organizations on matters relating to instructional technologies and methodologies.
  • Communicate with professionals in the field of military and industrial training and transfer the advances in instructional technology for collecting and evaluating data to assigned tasks.
  • Provide guidance for meetings and conferences to coordinate research efforts and to provide an interface with other technical codes of NAWCTSD Orlando and other training activities and agencies.
  • Oversee the production and review courseware as part of computer-based, web-based, and distributed learning training.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
BA or BS in any discipline.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have approximately ten (10) or more years of experience in DoD training, especially Navy training.
DESIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Industrial Engineering, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field or a combination of related experience, education and/or training to sufficiently and successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Master's degree preferred

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Five plus (5+) years of progressive experience in training and development, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a DOD training development environment, especially Navy.
  • Experience developing, managing, and delivering successful training programs - including LMS administration and instructional design.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory, competency frameworks, blended learning, and performance-based training models.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead training teams and mentor internal subject matter experts.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and virtual presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management abilities.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word); experience with eLearning platforms and video training tools is a plus.
  • Self-driven, collaborative, and able to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance.
