Job description

Intellectual Property Associate Attorney (Trademark & Copyright)

New York, NY

Direct Counsel is seeking a mid-level Intellectual Property Associate to join an Am Law 100 firm in New York.

This is an excellent opportunity for a 3–6 year associate attorney with experience in trademark, copyright, or trade secret litigation to support a busy docket of high-profile, high-stakes district court and appellate matters. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials, excellent advocacy skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation in federal and state courts
  • Drafting and responding to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
  • Conducting legal research and analysis on complex IP matters
  • Preparing briefs and appellate filings for high-stakes litigation
  • Advising clients on IP enforcement and risk mitigation strategies
  • Assisting with case management and client communications
  • Collaborating with senior attorneys on strategic litigation planning
Qualifications
  • 3–6 years of experience in IP litigation, including trademark, copyright, or trade secret matters
  • Superior academic credentials
  • Strong oral advocacy, writing, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced litigation environment
Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $260,000 – $390,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
