Role Summary:
In this role you will be joining a team of technical Mainframe Disaster Recovery professionals supporting a large-scale Disaster Recovery drill on z/OS systems platform. This position requires an experienced systems programmer with at least 10 years of experience supporting the z/OS Mainframe Storage environment. Responsibilities include understanding the configuration of Storage Equipment such as Tape and DASD.
Individuals applying for this role must be able to work independently, have excellent problem determination skills, written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
What You Will Do:
  • Support Disaster Recovery within Mainframe environment
  • Understand both Tape and DASD Subsystems
  • Perform Data Recovery for Tape and DASD
  • Maintain DR Plan and DR Technical Scripts (TRP's)
  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional technical teams, DRaaS Coordinators, clients, and vendors, while regularly updating managers on Drill status.

What You Will Need:
  • Extensive experience of Mainframe Storage which includes work experience with:
  • DASD and Tape - IBM (DS8k's, TS7k's), EMC, Luminex
  • Tape management systems - Broadcom, TMC, IBM RRM, OAM
  • VSM Virtual tape solutions and management
  • Global Mirror with Practice, Global Copy, FDR Software, ACS Routines
  • IBM IDCAMS
  • z/OS JCL
  • SMS routines (DFSMS), DFHSM, SAS/Vantage reporting for trends
  • Familiarity with Tape dump restores
