Your Mission

ClearEdge is hiring a Senior System Administrator to support the administration, sustainment, and security of Linux-based systems across mission environments. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining system health, applying updates, supporting cloud-based infrastructure, and ensuring systems remain reliable, compliant, and operational. You will work closely with engineers and stakeholders to support system availability and performance in both on-prem and virtualized environments.

This position is ideal for an experienced system administrator who is comfortable working at the command line, enjoys maintaining stable systems, and values operational excellence.
You Will Excel in This Role If You:
  • Are experienced administering Linux systems using the command line
  • Are comfortable applying system updates and patches using yum or equivalent tools
  • Enjoy maintaining system reliability and operational stability
  • Are familiar with cloud-based infrastructure and virtual machines
  • Have an interest in understanding how software and services are deployed on systems
  • Take ownership of system sustainment and compliance
A Day in the Life Of:
  • Performing Linux system administration on CentOS, RedHat, Amazon Linux, or equivalent platforms
  • Applying system updates and patches using yum or equivalent patching repositories
  • Monitoring system health and troubleshooting performance or availability issues
  • Supporting systems hosted in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure
  • Assisting with system configuration, maintenance, and sustainment activities
  • Supporting or interacting with network and system mapping tools such as RedSeal
  • Working with engineering teams to ensure systems meet operational requirements
Must Have:
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
  • Linux command line system administration experience on CentOS, RedHat, Amazon Linux, or equivalent
  • Experience applying system updates and patches using yum or equivalent tools
  • Ten (10) years of experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or five (5) additional years of System Administrator experience in lieu of a degree
Nice to Have:
  • Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience or knowledge of the RedSeal Network Mapping tool
  • Familiarity with software commonly deployed on systems such as Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, or NiFi
  • Experience with Syslog or NxLog
  • Experience with Nagios or similar monitoring tools
  • Scripting experience using Python or Perl
