About this role: 
Terravanta is seeking an experienced Project Management Specialist to support Project/Sr Project Managers with large complex infrastructure utility projects. The ideal candidate must have a strong background providing support to multiple projects at once. The ideal candidate must demonstrate proactive approach to management including strong organization skills. 
 
The Senior Support Specialist supports the planning, execution, and delivery of capital projects and large external customer initiatives for our Electric Utility client, including projects requiring interconnection with sub-transmission and transmission systems. This role is responsible for coordinating project activities, managing schedules, tracking action items, and ensuring timely follow-up on requests for information (RFIs), risks, issues, and project commitments through projects from design all the way to close-out. The position proactively engages project teams, clients, and stakeholders to obtain schedule updates, monitor progress, and identify potential obstacles that may impact project objectives. 
The Senior Support Specialist supports Project Managers by coordinating cross-functional activities, facilitating meetings, documenting discussions, decisions, and action items, and driving accountability for timely completion of tasks. Responsibilities include tracking project risks and mitigation actions, monitoring project performance, following up on outstanding deliverables, and providing accurate status reporting to support informed decision-making. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to independently lead meetings, coordinate activities across internal and external teams, and ensure projects remain aligned with established schedules, milestones, and business objectives. 
 
Job Responsibilities:  
  • Proactive; accomplishes results through own efforts – strong interpersonal skills 
  • Identifies problems and solutions. Provides input to project objectives, timelines, risks, milestones, deliverables, and budgets 
  • Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts among team members and, if needed, escalates to Project Manager 
  • Conducts analysis and prepares presentations 
  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion to advise and recommend courses of action. 
  • Applies advanced in-depth knowledge of project management support principles; understands project life cycle 
  • Proactive in addressing project team needs and providing reminders; good communicator, both written and verbally. 
  • Able to interact and coordinate with outside agencies, licensing, and project teams. 
  • Obtains project status, updates, and maintains the project tracking database, as well as other administrative skills 
  • Recognizes verbal cues in meetings (action items, requests, additional meetings to be setup, etc.) 
  • Able to work well in a team, as well as independently 
  • Able to adapt and reprioritize on a day-to-day basis depending on new or existing challenges that arise  
Requirements (Minimum): 
  •  Associate degree in applicable profession, business, or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 
  •  5+ years’ project support experience 
  •  2+ years’ project management experience 
  •  Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) 
  • Construction experience 
Requirements (Preferred): 
  • Electrical Infrastructure knowledge / experience 
  • Experience supporting PMs that manage projects from beginning through execution 
  •  Knowledgeable in P6 and SAP
