Job description

Rushton is one of Northeast Georgia's largest and most respected accounting firms in the region for over 40 years and is seeking a Tax Senior or Tax Supervisor professional in our growing Tax Division.


The Tax Senior or Tax Supervisor prepares tax engagements for businesses and high net worth individuals from commencement to completion, makes sound decisions on behalf our of clients and provides superior service while working within our team of trained professionals.The ideal candidate is a dedicated, proactive CPA (or seeking CPA license) with 2-6 years of experience in preparing both individual and corporate tax returns. The Tax Senior or Tax Supervisor position will assist with consulting on tax projects and managing client relationships


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other business entities
  • Manage and/or assist with tax engagements from commencement through completion while meeting deadlines and budget expectations
  • Research and resolve complex tax issues
  • Assist with tax planning and consulting projects
  • Communicate effectively with clients and serve as a trusted advisor
  • Mentor and support tax associates and interns
  • Stay current on tax laws, regulations, and industry developments
  • Utilize tax and accounting technology to improve efficiency and accuracy


REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

  • BS/BA in Accounting
  • 2-6 years of experience with preparing individual and corporate tax returns
  • Valid CPA license or a desire to become a CPA
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Ability to manage project timelines and proficiency utilizing accounting technology
  • Availability to work overtime during peak periods throughout the year
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • Valid credentials to work in the U.S.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid CPA license highly preferred or actively seeking CPA license
  • Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting
  • Experience using Ultra Tax preparation software, SurePrep, and Caseware
  • A passion for serving clients and providing them with superior service
