About the Role:
The Senior Business Analyst for Commercial Operations will serve as a strategic analytics partner to the commercial organization, translating complex data into actionable insights that improve sales effectiveness, forecasting accuracy, customer profitability, pricing discipline, and overall commercial performance. This role partners closely with Sales, Commercial Operations, and many other cross-functional business leaders to identify trends, evaluate opportunities, solve ambiguous business problems, and support data-driven decision making.
This role will lead Commercial self-service analytics using Microsoft Power BI, working closely with Sales, Commercial Operations, Finance, and the Enterprise Data team. The analyst will define business requirements and KPI logic, develop dashboards and decision-support analyses using governed data products and shared semantic models, and help Commercial users confidently use data in day-to-day decision-making
Success in this role requires strong analytical capability, business acumen, executive-ready communication, and the ability to connect data, process, and technology to measurable commercial outcomes.
This role will be a strategic commercial decision-support partner focused on growth, profitability, customer experience, and organizational efficiency. Success in this role will be measured by improvements in commercial visibility, forecast accuracy, decision quality, process efficiency, and business performance outcomes.
Your Responsibilities:
Commercial Analytics & Business Insights
  • Analyze commercial performance trends to identify risks, opportunities, gaps, and improvement actions.
  • Develop insights related to sales pipeline, forecasting, customer profitability, pricing, product mix, market trends, and commercial performance.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear business narratives, recommendations, and decision-support materials for commercial leaders.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to understand performance variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Build governed Power BI dashboards and reports using certified enterprise data products and shared semantic models to enable self-service analytics.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Data team to transition broadly adopted analyses and business logic into governed, scalable, reusable, and automated enterprise data products.
  • Lead self-service analytics adoption within the Commercial organization by developing reusable Power BI solutions, training users, monitoring adoption, collecting feedback, and continuously improving the usability and business value of analytics products.

Performance Management
  • Develop and own metric definitions, scorecards, dashboards, and trend reporting to monitor commercial performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting consistency, metric definitions, data quality, and performance visibility.
  • Partner with Sales and Operations stakeholders to improve forecast visibility, demand accuracy, and alignment to business needs.

Business Intelligence & Technology Enablement
  • Leverage tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Salesforce CRM, SQL, and ERP platforms to develop meaningful reporting and analytics.
  • Partner with IT and business users to improve data access, dashboard usability, system functionality, and reporting automation.
  • Serve as the bridge between Commercial stakeholders and the Enterprise Data team: partner with the business to define priorities, requirements, and KPI logic, and collaborate with the Data team to deliver governed data, scalable dashboards, and automated reporting solutions.
  • Drive self-service analytics across the Commercial organization by improving the adoption and effective use of data, dashboards, and analytics tools.
  • Help identify and prioritize technology and automation opportunities that improve commercial productivity, user adoption, and decision support capabilities.
  • Apply advanced analytics techniques where appropriate to improve forecasting, segmentation, profitability analysis, and commercial decision support.

Stakeholder Partnership & Communication
  • Build strong working relationships with the Commercial team and other cross-functional partners.
  • Communicate findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Prepare concise, leadership-ready materials that summarize insights, options, and recommended actions.
  • Support additional commercial operations priorities and projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned

Let's Talk About Your Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field. (MBA preferred)

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets, identify trends, and convert insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, and data modeling. Experience developing interactive dashboards and reporting solutions in Power BI.
  • Experience working with CRM, ERP, or other enterprise data systems.
