Senior SQL Database Administrator/Data Engineer

Complete Staffing is partnering with an innovative organization to find a highly skilled Senior SQL Database Administrator. This opportunity is well-suited for a professional who enjoys blending database administration with data engineering to build secure, scalable, and high-performing data environments.

In this role, you'll be responsible for managing SQL Server infrastructure, supporting enterprise data solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve the accessibility, reliability, and performance of critical data systems. You'll also have the opportunity to leverage modern Microsoft technologies, including Azure and AI-enabled SQL Server capabilities, to help drive the organization's evolving data strategy.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and support SQL Server environments, including installations, upgrades, patching, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Monitor database health and performance while troubleshooting issues and optimizing queries, indexing strategies, and overall system efficiency.
  • Develop, maintain, and test backup, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions to ensure business continuity.
  • Design, implement, and support scalable data architectures, including databases, data warehouses, and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize ETL processes and data integration solutions.

  • Assist in implementing AI-ready data platforms by leveraging modern SQL Server features and emerging Microsoft technologies.
  • Ensure database security, governance, compliance, and adherence to organizational best practices.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that enhance scalability, reliability, and overall database performance.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience administering SQL Server environments in a database administration and/or data engineering role.
  • Strong expertise in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high availability solutions.
  • Experience designing data architectures, data models, ETL processes, and enterprise data integration solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Familiarity with both relational and non-relational database technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional technical teams and business stakeholders.
