POSITION IS 100% ONSITE IN NORCO, CA

Job Summary
The SQL Server Database Developer / Data Engineer II independently designs, develops, and maintains enterprise SQL Server database solutions supporting mission-critical applications and reporting platforms. This role is responsible for developing ETL/ELT processes, optimizing database performance, supporting data warehouse initiatives, and contributing to database architecture and system integration efforts.


Responsibilities

  • Design and develop SQL Server database objects, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and indexes.
  • Design and optimize OLTP database structures.
  • Develop ETL/ELT pipelines and automated data integration processes.
  • Support Data Warehouse and Data Mart development utilizing dimensional modeling.
  • Perform advanced query optimization and database performance tuning.
  • Develop source-to-target mapping documentation and ERDs.
  • Support PostgreSQL-to-SQL Server migration efforts.
  • Create curated reporting datasets supporting Power BI and enterprise analytics.
  • Participate in database release management and deployment activities.
  • Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to design scalable data solutions.
  • Mentor junior developers on SQL development best practices.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4–7 years of SQL Server database development experience.
  • Strong T-SQL development experience.
  • Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Experience with ETL/ELT development.
  • Experience designing relational databases and dimensional models.
  • Experience with database performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD deployment processes.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. Government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered
