Job description

Join our Geozone Operations team as an Applications Engineer, where you'll serve as the primary technical interface with clients. This senior-level position combines advanced technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, requiring you to troubleshoot complex issues, mentor junior engineers, and manage sophisticated equipment installations. You'll work with cutting-edge technology while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and service delivery in the oil and gas industry. This role offers the opportunity to make critical decisions, optimize services through data interpretation, and drive continuous improvement in field operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Client Management: Act as the key interface with clients, managing service assignments and ensuring superior service quality delivery

  • Technical Leadership: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, perform engineering checks including hand calculations and software computations, and serve as technical advisor to management

  • Team Supervision: Oversee, lead, and mentor field operation crew members and junior field engineers, providing direction and knowledge transfer

  • Operations Management: Plan and execute jobs from preparation through completion, manage complex equipment installations, and effectively oversee inventory and supplies.

  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain the highest HSE standards, participate in daily safety meetings and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and ensure all activities comply with company policies and industry regulations

  • Data Analysis: Monitor and analyze data to recommend services and solutions, interpret data for client representatives to optimize services

  • Quality Assurance: Maintain equipment in safe working conditions, contribute to Root Cause Analysis reports, and follow up on equipment failures with the R&M team

  • Documentation: Submit all job-related data including reports, service tickets, and required documents for timely client invoicing

  • Availability: Respond to customer needs on a 24-hour call basis as required

Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science (minimum requirement)

  • 4-6 years of experience in the oil and gas industry

  • Strong fundamentals in Mechanics, Electricity, Electronics, Pneumatics, and Hydraulics

  • Advanced mathematics and mathematical reasoning abilities

  • Solid understanding of basic Physics and Chemistry principles

  • Proficiency in computer systems and software applications

  • Critical thinking, complex problem-solving, and active learning capabilities

  • Excellent reading, writing, and communication skills with strong judgment and decision-making abilities

  • Quality control analysis expertise to ensure products meet required standards

  • Strong time management and service orientation

  • Ability to visualize tool and product assembly, repair, and modifications

  • Physical capability to perform hands-on field operations and operate tools and machinery effectively

  • Information ordering skills with ability to identify and solve problems proactively

  • Travel Requirements: Domestic and potentially international travel up to 10%
