Job description

Subject Matter Expert 1 - Strategy CMC Implementation (DOE/LANL)
Location: Los Alamos, NM | Remote
Compensation: $75-$85 hr
Schedule: 1-Year Contract
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required
Clearance: Current or prior security clearance preferred
Why This Role
LANL is deploying a new Strategy Customer Managed Cloud (CMC) environment on Red Hat OpenShift and needs a senior consultant who has led this exact kind of implementation before. This is a lead deployment role, not general OpenShift administration. You'll own the CMC build-out, configure it to support existing on-premises Strategy reports and dashboards, and mentor LANL's middleware team to take over long-term operations.
Important: Candidates whose experience is limited to OpenShift administration without significant, hands-on Strategy CMC implementation experience are not a fit for this position.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the installation, configuration, and production deployment of Strategy Customer Managed Cloud
  • Deploy and configure Strategy CMC within a Red Hat OpenShift environment
  • Configure the new CMC environment to support existing on-premises Strategy reports, dashboards, security, and application functionality
  • Validate application functionality, performance, connectivity, and production readiness
  • Perform CMC configuration, tuning, patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, and ongoing operational support
  • Maintain the Strategy CMC application and supporting containerized infrastructure post-deployment
  • Develop operational procedures, documentation, and best practices for long-term support
  • Mentor LANL middleware personnel on administering both OpenShift and Strategy CMC, providing full knowledge transfer
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure a reliable, secure production environment

Minimum Qualifications
  • BS/BA in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, or related field
  • 7+ years of directly applicable experience implementing and supporting complex enterprise application platforms
  • Recognized subject matter expert in Strategy CMC architecture, deployment, configuration, and administration
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise software implementations from deployment through production operations and knowledge transfer
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with technical and management stakeholders

Required Qualifications
  • Extensive, hands-on experience deploying and administering Strategy CMC in production enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting, and supporting Strategy CMC
  • Experience migrating or enabling existing Strategy applications, reports, and dashboards within a CMC deployment
  • Experience deploying and operating Strategy CMC on Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes-based platforms
  • Strong understanding of Strategy architecture, platform services, and operational best practices
  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift administration, container technologies, Kubernetes, and Linux
  • Experience developing operational documentation and delivering structured knowledge transfer
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing Strategy CMC migrations from traditional on-premises Strategy environments
  • Experience with enterprise identity integration, authentication, and security configuration for Strategy
  • Experience supporting highly available enterprise analytics platforms
  • Experience in government, national laboratory, or other highly regulated enterprise environments
  • Current or prior security clearance
