Job Title: Senior Software Developer
Location: Indianapolis, IN – Hybrid, 2 days onsite per week
 

Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to provide technical leadership and development support for a portfolio of established Microsoft .NET applications, including a legacy Classic ASP application. This is primarily a sustaining engineering and production support role focused on system stability, defect resolution, enhancements, security, and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction and serve as the escalation point for complex application issues.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Microsoft .NET applications using C#.
  • Troubleshoot production defects and implement reliable, maintainable solutions.
  • Support and maintain legacy Classic ASP/VBScript applications.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and business stakeholders to analyze requirements.
  • Perform code reviews, establish coding standards, and mentor other developers.
  • Work with local, remote, and offshore development teams.
  • Partner with DevOps and infrastructure teams on deployments, monitoring, and releases.
  • Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows and reduce manual effort.
  • Ensure applications meet performance, security, regulatory, and governance standards.

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of application development experience.
  • 5+ years of Microsoft .NET development experience, specifically .NET Framework 4.6.2/4.8.
  • Strong C# development experience.
  • Experience with Entity Framework 6 or earlier using Database-First.
  • Strong SQL Server/T-SQL skills.
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and Design Patterns.
  • Experience with NUnit, xUnit, or comparable unit-testing frameworks.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD.
  • Strong experience with Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
  • Proven experience mentoring developers or providing technical leadership.
  • Willingness to work with legacy codebases, Classic ASP, and VBScript.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on Classic ASP/VBScript experience.
  • SSIS/DTSX and SSRS.
  • UWP, Xamarin Forms, or MAUI experience.
  • Experience working with offshore development teams.
  • Experience modernizing .NET Framework applications to .NET 8+.

Work Arrangement

  • Hybrid position requiring candidates to be local to Indianapolis, IN.
  • Must be available to work onsite 2 days per week.
  • Some flexibility may be required for early-morning meetings with offshore team members.
  • No after-hours on-call rotation.
