Start Date Is: ASAP
Duration: Permanent
Compensation Range: $120-135k

Job Description:
Senior engineer responsible for maintaining and modernizing kiosk-based applications, transitioning legacy .NET systems to a cloud-first architecture.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across SQL, backend, and UI layers
  • Maintain and enhance legacy applications (VB.NET, WinForms, .NET Framework)
  • Develop backend services and APIs using C# and ASP.NET
  • Optimize SQL Server queries, indexing, and performance for transactional systems
  • Support migration from on-prem systems to Azure Cloud
  • Work hands-on with kiosk hardware (card readers, peripherals) for testing and validation
  • Collaborate with QA to deliver stable release candidates
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business workflows and system integrations
  • Contribute to architectural planning for modernization to .NET (v10)

Requirements:

  • Must-Haves:
    • 7 years of software development experience
    • Strong expertise in C#, ASP.NET, and modern .NET Core
    • Hands-on experience with VB.NET (required)
    • Advanced SQL Server skills (complex queries, performance tuning, indexing)
    • Backend/API development (REST, Web APIs, SOAP exposure)
    • Experience working in legacy systems and debugging across full stack layers
