Job description

Senior Software Engineer — Boston, MA area

A well-established consumer media and technology company is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Engineering team. This is a senior, high-impact seat — not just executing tickets, but helping shape what gets built, how the team works, and how engineers around you grow.

You'll work across the full stack on some of the company's most technically challenging problems, partnering closely with product and design to drive outcomes rather than just ship features.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the design and delivery of complex, cross-cutting features across the full stack, from scoping through production
  • Drive architectural decisions within your domain, balancing near-term delivery with long-term maintainability and scale
  • Partner with product managers and designers to shape requirements and advocate for the right solution, not just the fastest one
  • Set the bar in code review with thoughtful, constructive feedback
  • Proactively identify and address technical debt, reliability gaps, and systemic risk
  • Mentor and develop mid-level and associate engineers through pairing and hands-on feedback
  • Help shape team-level engineering strategy — testing, deployment, observability, and engineering excellence

We recognize strong candidates may not check every box. If you're excited about this role, we encourage you to apply.

Based in the Boston area. Compensation: $150,000–$170,000, based on experience and other job-related factors.
