Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Social Media Manager to lead and evolve a global social media presence across bioscience, health, and wellness audiences. This senior-level role is responsible for developing and executing high-impact social media strategies that strengthen brand leadership, grow engaged communities, and drive measurable business outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and own the end-to-end social media and community strategy aligned with brand, product, and business objectives.
  • Establish a long-term vision for social platforms, identifying opportunities for innovation, investment, and differentiation.
  • Set annual and quarterly KPIs, lead reporting cadences and present insights, performance, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Monitor the competitive and cultural social landscape to identify trends, opportunities, and risks that inform content and channel strategy.

Content Strategy & Oversight

  • Oversee the creation of high-quality, scientifically accurate, and visually compelling content, including video, animation, graphics, stories, and integrated campaigns.
  • Lead content ideation and ensure all materials meet creative excellence and regulatory standards, including FDA and claims compliance where applicable.
  • Drive experimentation with emerging formats, platforms, and interactive content, with an emphasis on short-form video.

Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Marketing, Creative, Scientific Affairs, Research, Product Development, and Sales teams to ensure cohesive, accurate brand storytelling.
  • Provide clear direction and feedback to internal creators, agencies, freelancers, and production partners.
  • Mentor junior team members, supporting growth in strategic thinking, creativity, and platform best practices.

Performance Optimization & Analytics

  • Oversee platform analytics using tools such as Meltwater, Later, and other social and digital analytics solutions.
  • Analyze engagement, reach, traffic, conversions, and sentiment to inform optimization strategies.
  • Proactively manage crisis and reputation-related situations with strategic judgment and cross-functional alignment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of professional social media marketing experience, ideally within regulated, scientific, or highly competitive industries (e.g., bioscience, health, wellness, biotechnology, or technology).
  • Demonstrated experience leading channel strategy across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Reddit, and X (Twitter).
  • Proven ability to translate complex scientific or technical concepts into engaging, consumer-friendly content.
  • Strong experience with social media management platforms (e.g., Meltwater, Later) and digital analytics tools.
  • Working knowledge of SEO, content marketing, and paid social fundamentals.
  • Highly collaborative, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and manage multiple social media accounts.
  • Curiosity and passion for science, biotechnology, and wellness innovation.
