Jr. SharePoint Developer

This position supports the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Deputy Commander, Total Force/Corporate Operations (SEA 10), located in the Washington Navy Yard, in SE Washington, DC.ย NAVSEA is the Department of Navy's (DON's) central activity for designing, engineering, integrating, building, and procuring U.S. Naval ships, shipboard weapons, and combat systems.ย ย NAVSEA's responsibilities also include the maintenance, repair, modernization, and conversion of in-service ships and their weapons and combat systems.

The candidate will provide SharePoint development support to the SEA10/00 NAVSEA SharePoint site(s), and any succeeding collaboration site/tool sites and sub-sites serving as SharePoint Developers (SSD) providing cutting edge, timely design products within Navy guidelines from concept to delivery.ย ย ย ย 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise SharePoint solutions, including site collections and collaborative portals, in accordance with agency standards
  • Solid understanding of SharePoint Online architecture, governance, and industry best practices
  • Engineer and sustain solutions within SharePoint Online in compliance with federal security and governance policies
  • Develop and maintain workflows, automation processes, and reporting solutions to meet program requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to configure and manage SharePoint Online sites, lists, libraries, and user permissions
  • Leverage Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI) to deliver compliant and secure enhancements
  • Translate functional requirements into technical designs, prototypes, and formal documentation artifacts
  • Support system deployment activities, configuration management, and platform administration
  • Create user accounts and terminate accounts as needed. Provide backup support to other supports techs. Document tickets and troubleshooting steps for escalation.
  • Provide end-user training, maintain technical documentation, and ensure adherence to governance standards
  • Collaborate with customers, end users, and stakeholders to evaluate business processes, gather technical requirements, and deliver effective solutions
  • SharePoint and/or Power Platform certifications are desirable, though not mandatory
  • Adhere strictly to established Change Management, Configuration Management, and information security protocols

Requirements

  • US Citizen with Secret Security Clearance
  • Must have prior experience of SharePoint administration and management
  • Must have experience and familiarity in SharePoint design, functions, and applications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Minimum two years of professional experience supporting and developing solutions within SharePoint Online environments.
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Familiarity of permissions hierarchies and ability to make changes 'on the fly'
  • Advanced expertise in building complex solutions with Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Ability to quickly learn and utilize new web applications
  • Ability to multi-task and organize work and schedules
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines, work independently and with sufficient knowledge, present projects to senior management
  • Ability to communicate thoroughly and regularly with customers, supervisors, and peers.
  • Ability to manipulate out of the box SharePoint functions to create user friendly sites and applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, including development of interactive dashboards, data models, and paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder.
  • Extensive background in architecting custom SharePoint lists and developing webbased forms, including advanced InfoPath form solutions.
  • Experience deploying, customizing, and supporting SharePoint 2013 and SharePoint 2016 webbased applications.
  • Practical experience designing SharePoint architecture, including site branding, navigation structures, and user experience enhancements.
  • Ability to integrate and manage data from multiple sources such as Dynamics 365, Azure SQL, SharePoint, and Excel.
  • Experience developing Excelbased analytics, including pivot charts and integration with Excel Web Access web parts.
  • Proficiency in frontend development technologies including JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, and HTML.
  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively within crossfunctional, teamoriented environments.
