The roleย ย 
Scientific Director

Research, write, edit and proof copy to the highest standard (scientific and grammatical) for a broad range of medical communications channels and for various audiences, including abstracts, posters, manuscripts, slide decks, print items, and digital. ย 

Responsibilities ย 

Provide Scientific Acumen and Support ย 

Research, write, annotate, editย and proof contentย to theย highestย standard, fulfilling the ย requirements of the client and direct manager, while meeting all objectives and deadlinesย ย 
Conductย literatureย searches andย identify appropriateย supporting material ย 

Manageย and coordinateย materials through inception to approval stage ย 

Accurate/precise interpretation and incorporationย of client/authorย corrections ย 
Assists projectย teams by providing scientificย inputย at critical junctures ย 

Assist with presentations to clients/speakers/third party organizations ย 

Createย and maintain references for assigned products ย 

Supportย seniorย scientific staff as needed ย 

Provideย on-siteย support to meet client requirements, eg, on-siteย writing/editing/production, faculty support, A/V, data gathering, general assistance when appropriateย 

Effective interaction with internal staff atย  anย appropriateย scientificย and professional levelย  ย 

Performance Standards ย 

Accurately incorporates changes inย contentย in an efficientย manner ย 

Actively integrates existing brand related content intoย new communication projects ย 

Demonstrates knowledge andย enthusiasticallyย maintains/strengthens understanding of assigned brands/projectsย ย 

Displays high level of scientific understanding andย ability to learn quickly ย 

Effectively develops good relations withย internal groups ย 

Demonstrates passion for theย brands and related programs ย 

Demonstrates theย ability to work independently and with groups ย 

Background/experience and skills ย 
Advanced Scientific/Medical degree(PhD, PharmD, MD) ย 

4+yearsโ€™medical/scientificย writing/editing experience ย 

High attention to detailโ€“ย style/consistency, grammar, syntax, scientific accuracy, layout, etc. ย 

Knowledgeย of a numberย of therapeutic areas, medical products andย theย pharmaceutical industry ย 

Good project/timeย managementย and organizational skills ย 

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often under very tightย timelines ย 

Knowledgeable in PowerPoint ย
