These competencies ensure the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of vital industrial systems.

What are Senior SCADA Analysts?

Senior SCADA Analysts are experienced professionals who manage and optimize Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, which are critical for monitoring and controlling industrial operations such as utilities, manufacturing, and energy distribution. They are responsible for system configuration, troubleshooting, data analysis, and ensuring the security and reliability of SCADA networks. Senior SCADA Analysts also lead projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with engineers and IT teams to maintain and upgrade system functionality. Their expertise helps organizations ensure operational efficiency and compliance with industry standards.

What are some common challenges faced by Senior SCADA Analysts in maintaining system security and reliability?

Senior SCADA Analysts often encounter challenges related to ensuring both the security and reliability of complex industrial control systems. Job description

Infinity Natural Resources (NYSE: INR), is an oil and gas exploration and production company deeply rooted in the Appalachian Basin. Headquartered in Morgantown, WV, we are committed to responsible energy development, operational excellence, and strong environmental stewardship across our growing operations in Ohio and Pennsylvania. We pride ourselves on a collaborative work environment, a team dedicated to innovation and safety, and our strong connection to the Appalachian Basin, the region we proudly call home and operate within.
The Opportunity
As our Senior SCADA Analyst, you will be the primary architect of reliability for our real-time operations. Your mission is to ensure the heartbeat of our oil and gas assets remains steady, secure, and high-performing. In this high-impact role, you aren't just maintaining a system; you are safeguarding the integrity of our production and the safety of our field operations.
You will serve as the lead technical authority and escalation point, tackling complex challenges to keep our systems resilient and our data flawless. Whether you are spearheading critical system upgrades or optimizing existing architecture, your expertise will directly reduce operational risk and drive production continuity.
Location
This role is a hybrid position based out of our office in Morgantown, WV. You'll be expected to work in the office three days a week with occasional travel to remote field locations or well sites as needed.
What You Will Be Doing
In this role, you will be the lead guardian of our SCADA infrastructure, balancing deep technical troubleshooting with strategic system optimization. Your focus will be on ensuring that every data point is accurate and every control system is resilient.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain SCADA systems to guarantee the 24/7 safety and reliability of our field assets.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex incidents, diagnosing and resolving intricate hardware, software, and communication bottlenecks.
  • Safeguard the accuracy and availability of real-time and historical data, ensuring leadership has a single source of truth for operational decision-making.
  • Lead system upgrades, security patches, and technology refreshes, ensuring all changes follow a rigorous change management process.
  • Manage and troubleshoot the critical communication links between field devices (PLCs, RTUs, IEDs) and our central SCADA platforms.
  • Support the seamless onboarding of new assets and the expansion of existing systems to ensure consistent operational continuity.
  • Champion cybersecurity best practices and regulatory standards within the OT environment, ensuring we remain compliant and secure against emerging threats.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and IT teams to implement system enhancements and align field technology with corporate standards.
  • Maintain high-quality system documentation and support internal/external audits by providing detailed technical records and access controls.

Your Background
The ideal candidate blends deep technical expertise in Industrial Control Systems with the analytical mindset needed to maintain a high-performance OT environment. We are looking for a proactive professional who thrives in cross-functional settings and takes pride in operational excellence.
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related technical field.
  • Core Experience: 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise-level applications, with a strong preference for candidates coming from the Oil & Gas industry.
  • SCADA Expertise: In-depth knowledge of SCADA platforms, architectures, and real-time monitoring systems used to control complex field operations.
  • Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of PLCs, RTUs, IEDs, field instrumentation, and the broader industrial control landscape.
  • Connectivity Skills: Hands-on experience with industrial communication protocols and networks, including Modbus, DNP3, OPC, TCP/IP, and various telemetry (radio, cellular, fiber).
  • Security Mindset: A strong grasp of OT cybersecurity principles, access controls, and the regulatory/compliance requirements unique to critical infrastructure.
  • Analytical Communication: Exceptional problem-solving skills paired with the ability to document complex systems and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Operational Flexibility: Ability to thrive in an office-based role that requires frequent field travel and close collaboration with field personnel.
  • Reliability: Commitment to supporting the 24/7 nature of our operations, including on-call support and incident response as needed.
