SMG is seeking a local Safety Advisor - Owner's Rep in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. 

Overview of Job Responsibilities

  • The SMG Advisor will provide leadership, insight, and recommendations for improvement from an HSE perspective.
  • Help drive initiatives, take ownership, and set target dates for program enhancements.
  • Manage the HSE roadmap, which outlines program initiatives, ownership, start dates, and more.
  • Complete verifications/self-assessments to indicate the level of conformance to the client's HSE program/policy.
  • Advisor to make formal recommendations to the Business Area and the HSE and Environmental Management Team for program improvements.
  • Meet with management and key stakeholders on a scheduled and/or as-needed basis.
  • The SMG Advisor will demonstrate to the Business Area the efforts underway to lead the HSE program and the progress made on Business Area-driven initiatives.
  • Ensure active participation in relevant Business Area HSE Committees.
  • Conduct field observations and evaluate for trends.
  • Development and maintenance of leading and trailing HSE metrics.

Requirements


  • 5+ years of HSE/EHS experience
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, HSE management systems, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
  • Strong environmental compliance experience required, including waste management, hazardous waste handling, environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, or industrial operations
  • Experience developing HSE roadmaps and strategic plans, managing HSE initiatives and timelines, conducting audits and compliance reviews.
  • Degree in Safety or related fields 
  • Experience working directly with senior leadership, business stakeholders, and leading HSE programs
