Job description

Senior Plumbing Designer A globally recognized client of ours in engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services is currently looking for an experienced Senior Plumbing Designer to join their team. Responsibilities:
  • Designing the following plumbing systems: storm, sanitary and/or process drain, domestic water, and compressed air; preparing plans and specifications for bidding and construction
  • Resolve a variety of complex design challenges including conflicting owner and project requirements, application of different system types, or challenging field conditions
  • Research design options and document findings for the project team
  • Preparing and performing quality checks of documents
  • Conducting periodic construction site inspections
  • Delivers concepts and designs according to strict project deadlines
  • Contributes to all areas of the creative process and department
  • Performs work under the direct supervision
  • Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff
Key requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineer or a related field
  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • The ideal candidate will also be a Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD)
  • 5+ years of relevant plumbing design experience
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and building controls preferred.
  • AutoCAD and/or Revit, BIM or 3D experience required. Use of hydraulic calculation software (HASS) for fire sprinkler systems is a plus.
  • Codes, statutes, and laws related to building plumbing design and construction
