Job Description
You will join a collaborative team of data analysts and data engineering professionals responsible for transforming enterprise data into business-ready information. The team partners closely with executive leaders, finance, operational teams, and academic stakeholders to build trusted reporting, define key performance indicators, and create a consistent source of truth across the organization.
Current initiatives include modernizing enterprise reporting, supporting finance and board-level reporting, enhancing data marts, and improving data alignment across systems to ensure consistent decision-making throughout the university.
What You'll Do
  • Partner with stakeholders, faculty staff, leaders, and cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into analytics solutions and technical requirements.
  • Analyze complex data across multiple domains to answer critical business questions, evaluate hypotheses, support research initiatives, and develop forecasts.
  • Design, build, and maintain reporting, dashboards, data visualizations, and analytical products that drive informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to develop and enhance ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and scalable data structures.
  • Identify and resolve complex data quality issues while contributing to standards and best practices that improve enterprise data integrity.
  • Lead and manage analytics projects from discovery through implementation, communicating progress, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Present insights through compelling data storytelling that enables leaders to take deliberate, informed action.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
  • 5 years of related experience in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Data Science, Statistics, Decision Intelligence, Research, Learning Science, or Behavioral/Cognitive Psychology.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency, including queries and subqueries, data modification (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE), views, joins, filtering, sorting, aggregations, window functions, common table expressions (CTEs), and performance tuning.
  • Strong experience creating dashboards and visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Experience translating technical concepts and analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for business audiences and senior leaders.
  • Experience leading projects or workstreams from planning through delivery while managing multiple priorities and stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of ownership, curiosity, problem-solving ability, and a bias for action.
  • Knowledge of data modeling concepts, including conceptual and logical data models, dimensional modeling, star schema, and snowflake schema.
  • Experience with descriptive statistics, causal analysis, and inference.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, and SDLC.
  • Experience using flowcharting and diagramming tools such as Miro, Visio, Lucidchart, or similar software.
