Job Summary
Leonardo DRS in Menomonee Falls, WI is now hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to work in our world-class engineering facility. Our ideal candidate will have senior-level knowledge of carpentry and facilities maintenance to ensure our equipment is running on all cylinders daily!
This is an hourly paid, union represented role working Monday thru Friday from approximately 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. We offer flexible start times.
Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain and/or repair equipment and/or systems within the facility within area of expertise
  • Inspect and maintain maintenance equipment including scissor lift, single man lifts, boom lift, utility cars and fork trucks
  • Ability to load and unload tractor trailers with the use of overhead cranes and industrial forklifts
  • Rigging of large equipment for lifting purposes
  • Transport large electrical cabinets using a Traksporter crawler system
  • Oversee maintenance schedule to ensure regular and preventive maintenance work assignments are completed when required
  • Perform service calls, repairs, and equipment installations
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting, diagnostic evaluations, and routine inspections on physical plant systems and equipment as required
  • Oversee an inventory of parts and tools, and keep assigned storage areas clean and organized
  • Follow company and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines in daily work routines and assignments
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Complete appropriate paperwork in a proper manner for the purchase, stocking, and/or use of all materials, parts, and components required for work order completion
  • Using Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS), ensure work orders contain appropriate and accurate information before submitting completed work orders
  • Recommends cost savings strategies and techniques that will not compromise quality and individual safety
  • Strong carpentry skills needed for construction of engineering and test fixtures
  • Strong Facilities skills recommended. Painting, drywall repair, office furniture construction and basic building maintenance.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent + at least 5 years of related maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain a variety of tools, equipment, and systems
  • Essential skills include problem-solving, reading blueprints, and preventative maintenance
  • Additional technical education or certifications or hands-on experience from apprenticeships and on-the-job training is highly preferred
