Job description


In this role you will be responsible for assisting distributors and customers in rigging, troubleshooting and repairing Manitowoc Crane Group products. You will assist Product Service Managers and Distributors on set-up and maintenance of their new model products with focus on continued technical training. This position reports to the Field Service Manager. This position is located in Manitowoc, WI.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Interact with MCG based personnel on matters pertaining to service materials, product requirements, availability, and code compliance
  • Safely support crane assembly on customer jobsites
  • Plan & coordinate activities concerned with investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems by utilizing applicable processes to eliminate future operational or service difficulties
  • Analyze and troubleshoot problems when beyond the capabilities of the local distributor or customer
  • Continue education through technical training schools, and hands-on troubleshooting under instruction of senior Product Service Managers.
  • Analyzes reports of technical problems to determine trends affecting future design, production, service and maintenance processes and recommends modifications to eliminate future problems
  • Submit written detailed service reports, timecards, and expense reports
  • Represent the company with integrity and a professional image

JOB REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
  • High school education with a minimum of 2 years' general mechanical or electrical experience or Technical Degree with a minimum of 1-year same experience.
  • Must have technical service background, computer literate, able to read and interpret technical drawings, good communication skills both written and oral.
  • Must have ability and willing to learn to work with 480v of electricity.
  • Previous crane experience a strong plus but not required.
  • Hydraulic experience a strong plus
  • Must be able to travel locally and overseas frequently up to 75% of time
  • Must be able to climb ladders.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather
  • Candidates with prior experience in heavy equipment, aircraft or military vehicles and electronics should apply.

  • Perform job functions in a safe manner.
  • Wear all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) required by Company Policy for the job being performed.
