Engineering Technician- Senior Level
Huntsville, AL location
If you're ready for the challenge of working for a dynamic organization, Dayton T. Brown, Inc. has a career opportunity available for an experienced and motivated senior-level Engineering Technician in our Huntsville, AL location. Our three divisions, Engineering and Test, Technical Services, and Mission Systems, make DTB a diverse and interesting place to work.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Interpret engineering drawings for fabrication and assembly of test fixtures
  • Utilize tools and equipment required to assemble test fixtures
  • Strain gage installation, including interpreting drawings for location, surface preparation, bonding, soldering, and diagnostics
  • Assemble hydraulic systems composed of hoses, servo valves, actuators, and manifolds
  • Interfaces with customers and the engineering team
  • Perform and document inspections of work
  • Travel as required within the continental US (on average 10 - 20%)
  • Overtime and flexible shifts will be required during certain periods of a project

The ideal candidate will need:
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma / associate's degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical or related fields highly desired.
  • 5 +years' experience in mechanical, structural, and hydraulic equipment assembly and setup.
  • US Citizenship Required.
  • Aircraft structural testing experience is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible to changing schedules.
  • Mechanical hands-on technical experience is a must.
  • Understanding of aerospace safety requirements and quality standards highly desired.
  • Must be able to work from engineering drawings tailored for test fixture assembly.
  • Must be experienced and resourceful in the use and operation of tools and equipment used to assemble steel fixtures.
  • Proficient in the use of overhead cranes / rigging is highly desired.
  • Ability to operate industrial equipment such as forklifts and related material handling devices.
  • Instrumentation / strain gage installation is a plus.
  • Ability to work night shift
