We are responsible for designing phased array antenna systems including active and passive microwave components, radiators, radomes and a variety of RF subassemblies. The Senior EMI Effects Engineer is responsible for architecture design of electronics for extremely low electromagnetic emissions and high tolerance to external electromagnetic interferers. Applications include EMSEC and electronic warfare, with emphasis on the design of advanced missiles or like- applications. Experience in applied methods to control self-interference in high-gain, high-speed, low-noise advanced sensor systems including radar and electro-optic guidance units, the grounding strategies thereof, power distribution, shielding, partitioning and noise-reduction methods. The Engineer has experience in the architecture, application and advanced design of electronic subsystems that have successfully achieved high performance in the field.

This is an onsite role in Marlborough, MA

What You Will Do:

  • Develop architecture for new designs, to support the capture, and technical execution within the Department.

  • Contribute to the development of suitable components and sub systems that achieve the performance requirements at the system level.

  • Provide technical conscience, challenged with making sure the product and process meet appropriate standards

  • Ensure balance with risk conditions and constraints while advising leadership.

  • Visible and accountable for technical decisions.

  • Technical contact with the customer inclusive of requirements, technical commitments, IRAD, future technical needs, etc.

  • Participate in major review boards such as Engineering Review Board, Failure Review Board, Risk and Opportunity Review Board etc.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree and a minimum of 5 years’ prior relevant experience 

  • Experience in EMI/EMC test and/or design

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Master’s Degree in chosen Engineering/Technical Field

  • Currently hold a DoD issued security clearance of Secret or higher

  • Experience manufacturing and/or assembly of EMI-critical products

  • Ability to provide detailed documentation related to test planning, EMI test plans and EMI procedures and test reports with minimal revision and review

  • Knowledge of automated EMI test techniques and programming, specifically using TILE.

  • Must have analytical ability to read and understand complex technical instructions, drawings and specifications and utilize complex equipment or complete experimental procedures.

  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-461 test techniques and MIL-STD-464 Design Hardening techniques including grounding/ bonding and lightning

  • Experience with EMI 3D Modelling tools, HFSS, CST Microwave, COMSOL, EMC32

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
